Gloria Sanchez is a Spanish illustrator based in Prague, Czech Republic. Her work consists of photo-montage and illustration editing, which in three words could be classified as digital pop art. By combining the new and vintage, she creates ethereal pieces of art in a whimsical pop-culturesque vibe.
Pop art is a beautiful and very poignant genre. It allows combining seemingly “random” elements, creating extravagant, magical artworks with a nebulous, unrealistic or super-realistic effect to them. The work of Gloria Sanchez is no exception. She creates Andy Warhol-esque masterpieces with swift touch and undeniably good instinct.

Digital Pop Art
Combining Vintage With Modern
The muse for Gloria’s classy artwork eponymously named Sophia is undoubtedly Sophia Loren, the Italian film actress who has starred in iconic motion pictures such as Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow; Marriage Italian Style. With a flourishing flower crown and gold embezzlement, Sophia has been revived as a modern-day Aphrodite.
The digital world allows creating works of art in a more streamlined process, eliminating the clutter, whilst gaining so much more manipulative power over the media – the artist has exponentially more options how to model the artwork. Options give free will to creativity, and creativity allows for imagination to flow.
The Nebulous And The Bizare
Gloria’s artwork miscellaneously puts together pieces of very different genres and time periods, creating something ethereal and nebulous. It’s colourful and poignant at first, but very delicate and ingenious upon closer inspection. Gloria in every way has taken the advantage of our modern day and created sublime digital pop art.
