Loud, synthetic and explosive, this is something we’d like to call the bubblegum art. Plenty of beauty, featuring works by Gloria Sanchez and Daniela Pena (DIUON), this is where HARIBO bears slide from tounges, and the world witnesses the second coming of the King of rock n’ roll. Enjoy the sweets!
How About a Cake?
Who could refuse an offer like that? Just look at the beaming jelly, just look in those eyes! This is some real treat from the festive table of the Adam’s Family, if only they were a bit more color-oriented. A gross-out and irresistible form of pastry by Daniela Pena, something from the desert menu of Burton’s.
Elvis is in the Building!
The king is coming back with a knee-bending, hip-shaking bang! If there will be an apocalypse, let it come in a form of a gigantic king of rock and roll. The stars will provide the spotlight and you will hear the mighty gospel of the CC Rider. It’ll be Magnificient!
As the lightning cracks the dark vista of clouds over the vast acres of New Mexico desert, a surprisingly contemporary Roswell Grey appears before our eyes. Suited up in a nice, black denim shirt, the dude comes with peace. And some intergalactic fashion hints for us, the petty earthlings, we presume.
Laser Blastin’ Kitty
Pictures of cats, combined with interplanetary backgrounds, emitting rainbows and shooting laser beams with their eyes, have an immense power. Do we really need to say anything more?
Them Lips Are Moving
Meghan Trainor surely knows how to make a sticky tune (maybe even a bit too sticky for some tastes). However, this visual piece is akin more to the famous Rolling Stones tongue & lips iconography. Flashy tones, seducing gestures and a bit of sympathy for the devil. And the hues are a pure, synthetic bliss! Bubblegum art with a bubble gum flavor!
A toungelicious cupcake from DIUON, proving that the revolting and the tempting can be successfully reconciled. And we all know that HARIBO bears are made from the rainbow particles and to despise them is to miss a vital part of what makes the life so beautiful. Ask those experts in the playground!
Swimming Through the Night
To finish it up, we have a lady enjoying a nightly swim in a flower-clad sky. It’s an impossible beauty. Just add some atmospheric synths in the background, and you have the perfect 21-st century surrealism!
Okay, bubblegum art does not mean a celebration of superficiality. The message here is the beauty of the synthetic and the flashy, art that’s charged up, shameless and capable of electrifying its owner with each gaze, with every new day.
